Lb10t Ellipse timber
The elliptical shape of this high volume 100 Litre bin is ideal where there is heavy pedestrian flow or narrow footways. Ellipse timber is extremely well made and comes with a durable heavy duty polyethylene liner as standard that is accessed by a lockable hinged front door. Optional aluminium liners are less durable but are fire resistant. Cam locks are in stainless steel. Inner plastic bag liners (not supplied) used in combination with the rigid liner is common practice. The bin is supplied with with an electropolished finish as standard as this helps keep the steel looking as prstine as posssible. Starting price is £1295.
Cigarette disposer in the lid, Aluminium liner, coloured legs. To help any reduce corrosion for particularly aggressive environments the bin can be supplied in 316 stainless steel. Surface fixed and 130 lite Extra capacity versions (down to ground). Electropolished finish.
Standard below ground baseplate fixing 180mm below finished ground level or Surface mounted providing your surface is suitable (like concrete or timber decking) and your environment is low risk from theft. We recommend using tamper proof security bolts anyway. Also bear in mind that you’re surface does need to be reasonably level so the bin doesn’t appear to tilt.
We use high quality FSC Iroko firstly because it is sustainable and as it is one of the most durable hardwoods available in the UK. There are other cheaper hardwoods out there that do not perform anyway near when used outdoors.
As all timber Iroko will weather and lose its golden surface colour so if this isn’t the look you are after there are a few alternatives that help to sustain colour. The first is oiling (with teak oil); second is staining (with a quality stain) and lastly there is occasional pressure washing/sanding to restore the colour. They all work but have maintenance liabilities. Loudy is supplied with (teak) oiled Iroko as standard.
A note on colour - For technical reasons we do not apply powder coating to electropolished surfaces because it does not not adhere as well as to a grained untreated surface. So instead we offer colour in high quality vinyl (similar to vehicle graphics). In addition to having a very smart and professional finish in its own right it has an advantage over powder coating in that it incurs much cheaper refurbishment costs down the line. When powder coating may chip or look a bit tired you can replace the vinyl on site (without uprooting the bin) and even in a different colour or with advertising. There are pros and cons to each.
